Job Summary and Mission
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated accounting specialist to help support the Statutory Team. The Statutory Accountant will be responsible for preparing journal entries to support timely financial statements close and ensuring all activity recorded in line with Local GAAP. Assisting in the preparation of annual statutory filings, including core financial statements, supporting schedules and footnote disclosures. This position will also support the monthly general ledger closing process, as well as any other support that is necessary within the Finance Department.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists in the preparation of monthly financial reports and GL postings
- Prepares various account reconciliations, schedules, exhibits and summaries to support the general ledger balances
- Prepares reconciliations between US GAAP and Local GAAP
- Participate in the interim and annual audits for the Company
- Provides support to all areas of the Accounting Department as needed
- Performs other analysis and special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Required Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Mix of Statutory Accounts preparation and audit experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet established time lines
- Must possess excellent computer skills and have the ability to work with the accounting software package
- Excel skills including working knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, formulas, etc.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to interact with peers and senior management.
- Ability to work independently
- Degree in Accounting
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to develop, organize and complete large-scale projects, passion for continuous process improvements
- Strong technical skills including proficiency in NetSuite
- Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
