The Statutory Accountant is responsible for executing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities, preparing financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS, and ensuring compliance with tax and statutory reporting requirements. Partners with internal stakeholders and auditors to maintain effective internal controls, support regulatory compliance, and provide accounting and tax guidance that enables business growth.

What You Will Do
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and fixed asset management while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost management to ensure accurate financial reporting and informed business decisions.
Partner with various departments throughout Goodyear to implement effective financial analysis tools & procedures.
Demonstrates and applies basic understanding of the data flows and data standards in your specific business area.
Identifies basic trends, issues or other meaningful insights using basic analytical approaches.
Prepare and file legal, statutory, and annual financial reports while ensuring compliance with tax and free trade zone requirements. Support tax optimization initiatives and maintain compliance in a cost-effective manner.
Monitor compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements for the organization. Maintain accounting controls by preparing / recommending policies and procedures. Support any free trade zone, Social Security and tax audits. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; (70/20/10).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and systems as well as assist with any special projects/assignments as applicable.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of Costa Rican regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Ministerio de Hacienda requirements.
Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; SAP experience is a plus.
Highly organized with strong verbal and written communication skills, able to manage multiple priorities, meet concurrent deadlines, and effectively present information to all levels of the organization.
