This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located at 1915 Health Services Way - Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $45.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.
Management Preferences:
- Experience analyzing health or human services data for evidence of differences in outcomes and occurrences to inform resource allocation, policy change, and/or health care guidelines.
- Must be able to interpret data, analyze results using statistically rigorous analytic techniques, provide ongoing reports, effectively present findings, and share expertise that drives innovative health policies and processes.
- Must possess the ability to carry out technical work in consultation with colleagues across DHHS.
Job Duties:
- Data management, data wrangling, data analysis, and presentation and reporting on progress and findings.
- Perform data integration and analytics and create and execute analysis protocols for internal and external collaborative projects.
- Design and perform analyses that support and promote strategic initiatives across the health and human services portfolio.
Minimum Education and Experience

Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, data analytics, psychometrics or measurement and evaluation from an appropriately credited institution and one year of experience in data analysis; or Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, data analytics, psychometrics or measurement and evaluation from an appropriately credited institution and three years of experience in study design and data analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
