Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Station Manager to oversee the daily operations of one facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a keen eye for detail. This position requires someone who can effectively manage a team, maintain inventory, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities 

1.   Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, train, and coach a team of 4-7 to provide excellent customer service.
  • Schedule, and supervise employees to ensure smooth operation during all shifts.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvement.

2.   Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of the convenience store and gas station, including inventory management, cash handling, and maintenance.
  • Monitor email communications and ensure prompt response and follow-up as needed. 
  • Ensure adequate stock levels and manage inventory ordering to meet customer demand.
  • Monitor and analyze sales trends to optimize product selection.
  • Coordinate with vendors to successfully manage deliveries and stock levels.
  • Actively participate in all programs, promotions, and incentives ensuring 100% execution.
  • Control shrinkage through effective inventory management and loss prevention strategies.
  • Resolve any customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience and loyalty.
  • Ensure that the store is clean, well-maintained, and organized at all times.
  • Monitor and control expenses to maximize profitability.
  • Manage payroll, including scheduling, timekeeping, and processing.
  • Manage recruitment, hiring, and training for the store. 
  • Complete other tasks and as assigned by management.

4.   Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards.

Job Specifications

Skills and Experience Include but Not Limited to:

Required:

  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work in a team and delegate. 
  • Previous retail experience and/or customer service experience.
  • Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ethical, honest, trustworthy, respectful, compassionate, supportive and patient.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and exercising good judgement.
  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must possess required up-to-date food handling certificates, as required by law (in specific locations only).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.

Preferred:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous cash handling experience.

Physical Demands Include but Not Limited To:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of times on hard and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to process information and merchandise through cash register system.  Repetitive motion with hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.  Vision and depth perception is required.
  • Ability to bend, carry, push, pull, stoop, squat, twist or lift to stock merchandise and clean station in narrow spaces.   Merchandise, equipment and cleaning supplies throughout the station generally weighing 0-50 pounds.  Use of strong chemicals.
  • Ability to work unaccompanied at a rapid work pace for extended shifts of 12 hours or more, as assigned.
  • Periodic exposure to all outdoor conditions at all times of day.
  • Occasional exposure to prolonged periods in walk-in coolers at 34F.
  • May also experience extreme hot temperatures when operating store equipment.
  • Operate a motor vehicle in all local weather conditions.
