The Role

The State Filings provides essential support to the State Filings department. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience in the insurance regulatory process, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations across all 50 states. This role works closely with internal teams and state insurance departments to assist with day-to-day filings, reporting, and communication.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with form preparation and submission, rates, and rules to state insurance departments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Gather, organize, and verify data for submission to external regulatory bodies, including state insurance departments and bureaus.
  • Research state insurance laws and regulations to help maintain compliance. Provide clear, concise summaries of your findings to management.
  • Create, update, and organize policy forms, manuals, and endorsements. Maintain filing records and monitor approval statuses.
  • Coordinate with state insurance departments to handle objections, respond to inquiries, and address any compliance-related requests.
  • Partner with the IT department to ensure relevant systems function as intended. Communicate any form changes or compliance matters to underwriting and other internal teams.
  • Assist in preparing statutory data reports for submission to states and bureaus.
  • Support with additional tasks, projects, and research as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfort with numbers and basic math is important.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly present information to stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Organization & Time Management: Capable of juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Preferred Experience/Background:
    • Exposure to legal research, law, or compliance.
    • Familiarity with property and casualty insurance.
    • Any CPCU coursework or designation.

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided.  The salary range for this position is $40,000- $45,000 per year.  Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
