The Role
Lead statewide public policy strategy, government affairs, grassroots organizing, coalition engagement, and communications for AFP-Arkansas. Hire and manage a high-performing team, cultivate donors and partners, mobilize volunteers, and coordinate with national teams to achieve measurable policy wins.
Summary Generated by Built In
Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is the premier grassroots organization focused on advocating solutions to the country’s greatest challenges. We recognize that tens of millions of Americans are frustrated with the extreme partisanship in government that keeps common-sense reforms from being passed, and instead seek to stand with policy leaders who are committed to finding a better way.

Americans for Prosperity is part of the Stand Together philanthropic community.

The Arkansas State Director is the senior leader responsible for driving statewide public policy strategy, grassroots organizing, government affairs, and coalition engagement. This role serves as the primary spokesperson and strategic leader for AFP-Arkansas, overseeing a high-performing team and advancing policy outcomes at the local, state, and federal levels.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Lead Statewide Strategy: Develop and execute a data-driven, long-term strategic plan to advance priority public policy initiatives and grassroots campaigns across Arkansas
  • Government Affairs & Policy Advocacy: Build and drive a legislative agenda, engaging with the Governor, state legislature, and federal delegation to influence policy outcomes

  • Fundraising & Donor Development: Cultivate and steward donor relationships and philanthropic partnerships to support sustainable state operations
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with national teams and other state chapters on multi-state initiatives, policy campaigns, and strategic priorities

What You Will Bring:

  • Track record of building and managing high-level relationships (elected officials, donors, or influencers)
  • Strong leadership and people management experience
  • Exceptional communication skills (public speaking, media, and executive-level writing)
