Role Description: Lead Bank is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented state and local tax (SALT) professional. This role provides the opportunity to oversee Lead Bank’s SALT compliance, collaborating with external tax consultants and developing internal procedures as Lead Bank continues to grow its national footprint. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multi-state tax laws and a desire to develop expertise in this complex and evolving field.
In this role you will:
- Assist in the preparation and review of state and local tax returns, including the collection of supporting documentation
- Prepare and analyze nexus determinations and apportionment analyses, in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Develop additional documentation, such as tax forecasting reports.
- Maintain current knowledge of changes in state and local tax laws.
- Collaborate with and support team members, including assisting with other regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
- Provide assistance with other day-to-day activities as required.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation, compliance, or consulting with a focus on SALT is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
- Strong understanding of multi-state income, franchise, sales and use, and property taxes.
- Proficiency in tax research tools
- Be action-oriented, with strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for business and technology
