WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Experience
A law degree.
Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
A minimum of five (5) years experience advising entrepreneurs and startups, preferably from private practice at a major Canadian law firm
The ability to give a clear, business-driven answer under time pressure and stand behind it.
Comfort operating with autonomy. Our lawyers are independent by design and run their own mandates.
Specialized Expertise
Assist a variety of growth companies with corporate legal services including company formation, shareholders’ agreements, private placements, corporate transactions, stock option plans, license agreements, terms and conditions of use and employment matters.
Comfortable representing Caravel at various startup related conferences, networking events and organizations.
Location
Ottawa, Ontario. Remote elsewhere in Canada is also acceptable.

Skills Required
- Minimum of five years' experience advising clients, ideally entrepreneurs and start-ups, preferably in private practice at a major Canadian law firm.
- Call to the Ontario Bar and comfort with provincial and federal incorporations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and exercise sound judgment with limited supervision.
- Genuine passion for helping entrepreneurs build companies.
