IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a part-time Standards Aligner to join our content development team. In this role, you will be responsible for aligning IXL math skills to state educational standards, international curriculum documents, and sections of widely-adopted textbooks. These alignments will be used by teachers across the nation and around the world to design their lessons and track their students’ progress.
This is a 1099 consulting role that is remote for 6 months with possible extension. #LI-REMOTE
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Accurately interpret state educational standards and curriculum documents
- Identify the IXL skills that best help students meet the goals of each standard
- Evaluate how closely IXL skills match textbook sections; suggest adjustments to improve fit
- Format alignments as Google spreadsheets
- Assist in researching state and international education standards
- Collaborate with curriculum designers to determine the best possible alignments
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in math, education, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience aligning content to state standards
- Strong knowledge of K-12 educational terminology and math content, with background in high school mathematics, including calculus, preferred
- Basic knowledge of Google Sheets or Excel
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
