Want to make a real impact for Malt by building innovative solutions? Our Data Engineering team is looking for a motivated and curious intern to join us and contribute to our data platform!
You will drive innovation on our data platform by developing technical solutions to automate tasks and boost internal productivity, leveraging innovative technologies like open-source frameworks, or LLMs. You will directly contribute to the development and enhancement of our data applications, including Malty AI, our internal AI assistant platform used by 80% of our employees. You’ll also be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of our data platform. To further your learning and contribute to the team, you will explore and share insights on emerging data technologies and actively participate in our guilds.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to tackle concrete challenges and learn from experienced data professionals. You'll work closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, and ML Ops, gaining hands-on experience with technologies like Google Cloud, BigQuery, Airbyte, Airflow, Gemini, Mistral, or dbt. A senior data engineer will provide mentorship and support, allowing you to focus on what you love: building robust and scalable tech solutions.

We value Data Engineers who are collaborative, curious, and driven to solve complex data challenges. Your role extends beyond writing code; you'll be translating business problems into robust tech solutions. You'll be challenged to think strategically about data flow, performance, and scalability.
Key responsibilities ✨:
- Drive Innovation on our Data Platform: Develop tech solutions to automate tasks, and boost internal productivity using innovative technologies (LLMs, open source frameworks …). Contribute to the development and enhancement of our data applications (such as Malty AI, our internal AI assistants platform) that serve business teams. Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of our data platform.
- Technology Exploration: Research and explore new technologies in the data tech landscape.
- Share your findings and learnings with the team through presentations and documentation.
- Actively participate in the guild (AI, data engineering), contributing to knowledge sharing and collaborative projects.
About you 🧑🚀:
- Currently pursuing a master degree in Computer Science, Data, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in data engineering, AI, and cloud computing.
- Strong skills in programming and experience with programming languages (e.g., Python is preferred). Prior experience working with databases (eg: bigquery, snowflake, redshift, posgresql …) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Interest in automation and scripting. You enjoy getting your hands dirty.
