As a Staff Video Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and participating in the design, development, and maintenance of our Video platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and implement cloud native software solutions that meet customer requirements. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a strong problem-solving mindset, and is able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. </div><div><br></div><div>Our vision is to build a ticketing and streaming platform for high school sports that is reliable, scalable, and user-friendly. Our goal is to be the go-to platform for high school sports ticketing and streaming, enabling communities to come together and support their local teams.</div><div><br></div><div>Additional responsibilities and accountabilities for this role include:</div><div><br></div><div>• Provide technical leadership within the engineering team by setting technical direction, guiding architectural decisions, and promoting best practices.</div><div>• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their professional growth and skills development.</div><div>• Act as a subject matter expert in specific areas of technology or domains relevant to our products, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.</div><div>• Lead cross-functional teams and projects, coordinating efforts, and ensuring effective communication between team members.</div><div>• Act as a technical point of contact for cross-functional teams and provide guidance on technical matters.</div><div>• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to define long-term technical strategies and roadmaps.</div><div>• Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.</div><div>• Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and different perspectives.</div><div>• Lead by example in terms of code quality, software design, and adherence to coding standards.</div><div>• Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the overall software architecture.</div><div>• Take ownership of critical technical challenges and provide guidance to the team in resolving complex issues.</div><div>• Influence technical decisions and advocate for best practices in software development across the organization.</div><div>• Represent the engineering team in meetings with stakeholders, articulating technical solutions and project progress.</div><div>• Play a key role in recruiting and onboarding new engineering talent, contributing to the growth of the team.</div><div> </div><div><br></div><div><b >THE PERSON</b></div><div><br></div><div>• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with OTT video delivery.</div><div>• Strong understanding of cloud native software development principles and design patterns.</div><div>• Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Node).</div><div>• Strong understanding with HTTP-based adaptive video delivery formats (HLS, DASH), packaging, and delivery.</div><div>• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.</div><div>• Experience with computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV, Tesseract, TensorFlow, PyTorch).</div><div>• Experience with venue and cloud-based encoding workflows (ffmpeg) and how they integrate with industry standards audio/video codecs (AVC/HEVC/DD+).</div><div>• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.</div><div>• Experience building scalable, distributed systems.</div><div>• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</div><div>• Strong communication and collaboration skills.</div><div>• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.</div><div>• A willingness to be on-call on a rotational basis to quickly address customer-facing issues.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>#LI-DNI</div><p><div><b >COMPANY OVERVIEW</b></div><div><span > </span></div><div>The future of high school athletics and activities is powered by PlayOn!
