The Intelligence Curation Team owns the system behind Snyk’s Vulnerability Database—the industry’s most trusted source of security intelligence. We build the sophisticated pipelines and AI-driven tools that discover, analyze, and normalize the data that powers every Snyk product.

As a Staff Engineer on the Intelligence Curation Team, you will provide high-level technical leadership for the group responsible for Snyk’s proprietary security intelligence. You aren’t just building features; you are fundamentally improving our technical strategy, ensuring our "Source of Truth" scales to meet the needs of the AI era.
 

You will join a team that leans into:

• AI curation: We are moving beyond manual data entry into a world where LLMs and autonomous agents assist in the discovery, categorization, and enrichment of global security threats. You’ll be building sophisticated agentic systems driving high quality curation.

• Intelligence at scale: We are re-architecting our core pipelines into a high-scale, event-driven ecosystem capable of delivering real-time, high-fidelity security updates to millions of users.

• Bridging Human Expertise and Automation: We build the "Intelligence Workstation" that combines the intuition of world-class security analysts with the raw power of automated, machine-learning-driven ingestion engines.
   

• Drive technical direction of the team: You will develop a plan to replatform the existing system to cater for the increase in security intelligence. You use product deliverables to work towards a north star architecture in an iterative fashion.

• Implement AI workflows: You will be the driving force of integrating AI into our curation workflows, turning manual research into automated, structured intelligence at global scale.

• Coaching: You actively mentor and coach peers in improving their technical skills. Together with the EM, you’re building a high-performing team.

• Working across disciplines: You partner with various teams such as AI Research, Data Platform, and Scanning Engine teams to ensure our intelligence is unified and seamless across the development lifecycle.

• Hands-on: You remain grounded in actual work which will help inform the long-term technical strategy. You are an active part of the team, engaging in pairing with peers, working in code and setting an example for craftsmanship.
   

• Most importantly: You bring a humble, curious, proactive, action-oriented mindset to problem solving and working with people.

• Technical foundation: You have 10+ years’ experience in software engineering and a track record of building systems with people.

• Execution focus: You master both conceptual work and hands-on. You are comfortable leading efforts from ideation to successful implementation, unlocking impact.

• People first: You understand that making others successful is making you successful. You are fluent in debugging “people issues” besides technical issues.
   

• Have hands-on experience building modern security or intelligence tools.

• Have experience with knowledge graphs or complex data modeling, particularly in the security domain.

• You understand Open Source development and have an opinion on where supply chain attacks, and CVE scanning is headed
