Tech Lead – Marketplace (SEO)

About the Role:
We are seeking a Tech Lead to join our Marketplace engineering team, leading front-end development focused on SEO performance and search visibility. You'll lead a team of engineers in delivering scalable React and TypeScript solutions that drive website rankings and qualified traffic. This role requires strong leadership skills, stakeholder management experience, and deep expertise in technical SEO implementation in an AWS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor engineering team in developing high-performance front-end solutions with SEO optimization
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and take ownership of team delivery and output
- Design and implement technical SEO features: page templates, canonical tags, sitemaps, structured data, and crawl optimization
- Partner with content, marketing, and product teams to align business goals with technical SEO strategies
- Drive performance optimization: page speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile-first design, and lazy loading
- Lead code and design reviews, providing mentorship to ensure high-quality, SEO-optimized deliverables
- Monitor application performance and SEO metrics, resolving issues effectively
- Write and maintain technical documentation for SEO features and architecture
- Keep current with SEO trends, search algorithms, and front-end technologies
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in technical leadership role
- Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern front-end technologies
- Willingness to work in PHP codebases as necessary
- Strong backend experience with Node.js and RESTful APIs
- Proven experience with technical SEO implementation and web performance optimization
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience mentoring engineers and facilitating Agile/Scrum processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Self-starter with passion for enterprise software development and SEO
