Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Engineer would be responsible for building system software components running on Linux/Fabric OS.

The components would be part of the infrastructure. They can be user or kernel level components.

  • Should be able to troubleshoot and support the infrastructure components for multiple parallel releases.
  • Should be able to work with technical teams across geographies, and various time zones.
  • Performance tuning of the infra components to meet the scalability requirements.
  • Porting the applications to new Linux kernels.
  • Work closely with the testing, documentation and customer support teams.

Skills required:

  • Must have a 4-year undergraduate degree, and Master’s degree preferred, with Major or Minor in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Must have 8 to 12 years of work experience in a software product company. Should have worked on the Linux/Unix platforms, using C/C++ languages.
  • Should have knowledge of atleast one scripting language, preferable Python.
  • must be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle for a product that has multiple release streams, and must have gone through the software development process at least once in their past work experience
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills to:
  • take requirement, develop external functional specs,  unit test plan, and implementation design specs
