We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Tel Aviv. Discovery is a Big Data / AI platform that helps the world’s largest brands understand what matters to their audiences - combining web, video, and social content with TV and commercial viewership data.
What You’ll Do:
Plan, implement, and take full ownership of core features across Discovery’s backend services (audience targeting, keyword-association search, and the core management API), owning the entire development cycle.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, TSE, and DevOps on design and architecture decisions.
Work on the audience-activation layer that bridges Discovery’s audience data to downstream targeting systems, including TV, streaming, and commercial viewership signals.
Participate in refactoring system components and modernizing the stack to improve performance and stability.
Lead and mentor other developers, providing guidance on complex, cross-service projects.
What will I bring?
10+ years of experience in developing complex enterprise web applications
and distributed systems in production.
Deep understanding in Java programming (Spring Boot/Spring- A must!)
Experience with designing and implementing architecture web systems.
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (MySql,
Elasticsearch, Redis, Vertica).
Experience in modern UI frameworks (Angular, Vue, React) - advantage!
Demonstrated leadership skills.
A highly motivated team player with a strong “can-do” attitude and great
interpersonal skills.
A self-starter that can work independently and multi-task effectively.
Passionate and eager to learn new technologies.
BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
Nice to Have:
Ruby expertise (Sinatra/Rails-style frameworks, ActiveRecord).
Experience with GraphQL API designa.
Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
