You will work in our Identity & AFC product area, where we design and maintain the core services that power compliant customer and business identity verification at scale. You will work with a team who is responsible for the infrastructure behind KYC (Know Your Customer) and Due Diligence processes, ensuring our banking platform meets Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) regulations across all customer journeys. You will work on mission-critical, partner-facing APIs that initiate and orchestrate KYC workflows, while building robust, reusable components that enable secure and scalable identity management. We are looking for a Staff Engineer to lead one of our core product engineering teams in shaping the future of digital banking. In this role, you will work at the intersection of product and engineering, owning the design, delivery, and operation of complex, high-scale financial services. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering Leadership, and fellow engineers to build secure, resilient, and reliable banking solutions. You will bring both technical depth and leadership to a team solving critical business and technical challenges.

As a Staff Engineer you will:

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team building cloud-native services for banking products
• Design and deliver scalable and secure backend systems, from architecture to production
• Drive engineering excellence through code quality, system reliability, observability, and performance
• Collaborate with product and engineering peers to align technical decisions with business outcomes
• Own systems end-to-end: “You build it, you run it” from design to deployment to operations
• Guide architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy across your domain
• Mentor engineers and shape team practices that raise the bar

• Proven experience in Go (preferred) and/or Ruby
• Deep experience building and operating cloud-native applications on GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Solid understanding of security best practices for backend and cloud-based services
• Demonstrated ownership of complex systems with a mindset for operational excellence
• Experience leading technical projects or teams (Tech Lead, Team Lead, or similar)
• Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives, balancing technical and product priorities
• A thoughtful communicator and problem-solver, able to align engineering efforts with business goals
