Staff Software Engineer, Golang - Tech Foundations

We are on the lookout for a Staff Software Engineer, to join the Database & Streaming team in Tech Foundations vertical on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

As a member of the Tech Foundation Team, you'll support Delivery Hero's rapid innovation and growth. You'll work on foundational systems that enable faster feature development, security, and reliability across our global engineering community. Every enhancement you make will contribute to our teams' ability to build, scale, operate and deliver quality features—ultimately impacting millions of users worldwide. Our team builds the tools that empower our developer community to harness Databases and Streaming solutions at scale. We aim to remove the complexity of stateful resource management so engineers can focus on building great products, not fighting infrastructure. We design systems that make access secure, resources compliant, and provisioning effortless. On this team, you'll work on challenges that touch every corner of our organization, operating at a scale rarely seen in the industry. We are curious, pragmatic, and committed to creating a frictionless experience for our users.

In this team you will:

- Design, build, and maintain high-performance services that power the company's Database & Streaming provisioning systems.

- Build and support the expansion of our Kubernetes Operator ecosystem by extending our custom built operators.

- Develop tools that simplify how developers provision, access, and govern resources across hundreds of AWS accounts and GCP projects.

- Contribute to the architecture of our internal Streaming Ecosystem, improving scalability, reliability, and developer experience.

- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and security specialists to design self-service workflows that balance agility with compliance.

- Participate in team discussions and propose innovative solutions that enhance automation, performance, and user satisfaction

We are looking for a well-rounded Staff Engineer. You likely have a mix of the following skills, and while we don't expect you to have them all, you should be an expert in at least a few.

- Strong proficiency in Golang, with experience building and maintaining production-grade services.

- Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes and developing operators for it. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to reason about complex systems at scale.

- Solid understanding of Databases & Streaming solutions (Aurora RDS, CloudSQL, Kafka, Flink).

- A mindset oriented toward automation, reliability, and developer experience.

- Experience working with APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.

Nice to Have:

- Experience developing infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, ACK, Config Connector, Cloudformation).

- Familiarity with Docker, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
