Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join the SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) team. In this role, you will drive the design and development of a cloud-native Security Service Edge (SSE) platform that enables secure, Zero Trust access to applications, SaaS, and enterprise resources from any device, anywhere.
You will play a key role in evolving a modern platform that delivers capabilities such as Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), secure web gateway, and VPN-as-a-Service, replacing legacy security architectures with scalable, cloud-delivered solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build scalable systems and APIs
- Lead development of subsystems and core features
- Drive technical decisions and design reviews
- Improve performance, reliability, and security
- Mentor engineers and guide best practices
What You’ll Bring
- 6+ years of system/software development experience
- Expertise in Go, Rust, C or C++ and concurrency.
- Strong experience in distributed systems and system design.
- Deep knowledge of databases and scaling.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals
- Experience with cloud and microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
- Working experience or strong understanding of secure access and security systems (e.g., authentication, authorization, policy enforcement, Zero Trust / ZTNA / SSE)
- Ability to design systems with security, scalability, and reliability considerations.
- Ability to guide teams and improve engineering quality.
- Strong use of AI tools with engineering judgment.
