The Role
Job Description SummaryJoin our Firmware team as a key contributor in designing and integrating embedded software for cutting edge Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) products. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from small modules to large components, and develop features that significantly impact the healthcare industry. Collaborate with talented teams across the business to drive our technology forward and make a real difference in patient care.

Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:
  • Lead a project with multiple team members, including project planning and tracking to plan
  • Collaborate with systems and hardware teams to gather and capture requirements
  • Develop software which meets quality, reliability, performance, and testability requirements
  • Work with global teams and architects on generating consistent design and architectural improvements for MR platforms
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure best practices
  • Plan and conduct work using the Scaled Agile Framework
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers on the team
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8 years of experience designing and developing embedded software using C++ and object-oriented design
Desired Characteristics:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a related field
  • 3 years of experience using continuous integration and automated testing
  • 5 years of experience in embedded system troubleshooting using standard tools such as emulators, debuggers, and analyzers
  • 5 years of experience working with a Realtime OS such as VxWorks
  • Experience using a Linux development environment and containers
  • Experience in a regulated environment that required rigor in documenting requirements, designs, testing, and results
  • Experience working on medical devices within a Quality Management System (QMS)
