THE OPPORTUNITY:
At Clari + Salesloft, our Staff Software Engineer, DBE will be pivotal to our company’s success. You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing team in India. We are looking for an experienced technical leader who can help realize the Clari + Salesloft vision of a "Data Platform as a Service." We are looking for engineers who are passionate about database reliability, cloud automation, and data integrity, and who thrive working on leading-edge technologies to scale our DataHub to Petabyte Scale.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible to:
- Design, build, and scale our RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, Amazon Aurora) and NoSQL systems (Cassandra, MongoDB) to meet massive ingestion and analytical demands.
- Lead large, cross-functional projects that identify and overcome friction points in data persistence, migration, and scaling.
- Architect scale-out strategies, including the evaluation and implementation of sharding technologies to distribute workloads effectively across clusters.
- Build automation and tooling (Infrastructure as Code) to improve engineering efficiency, reduce toil, and empower product teams to operate in a reliable and secure manner.
- Collaborate synchronously and asynchronously with Architects, Product Development, and Data Science teams to gather requirements and design scalable, distributed systems.
- Maintain, protect, and grow our data resources by owning the "backbone" of our production environment, including high-availability (HA) solutions, backups, and disaster recovery.
As a technical leader within the Platform Operations Infrastructure Team, you are a resilient problem solver. You have a deep understanding of the engineering lifecycle and how teams work in Agile. You hold strong opinions, loosely held, and welcome new perspectives supported by thoughtful reasoning and data. You thrive in a collaborative environment where cross-team impact and a diversity of ideas are valued.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, DBE to provide an experienced backbone to our team in the form of automation, capacity planning, and overall database platform management. If you’re looking for an opportunity to learn more, do more, and become more, then this is the career path for you!

THE SKILL SET:

- Automation & IaC: Expert-level experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Coding Proficiency: Ability to code in Python or Java, with a solid grasp of shell scripting.
- Reliability & HA: Demonstrated experience with high-availability databases and failover clustering (experience with Patroni is a plus).

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, with a love for collaborating across multiple timezones in a remote-first environment.
At Clari + Salesloft, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone belongs and can thrive. We focus on culture add, not culture fit, and believe our teams are made stronger by the unique perspectives, experiences, and identities each person brings.
