We’re searching for a Staff Software Engineer, Behavior Simulation.
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement simulation capabilities that are critical to the development and validation of a self-driving vehicle.
- Drive ambitious technical projects across simulation and autonomy teams.
- Develop production-grade software in C++ and Python, using modern best practices.
- Contribute to engineering best practices on a large and complex code base.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of applied industry experience demonstrating strong programming and software design skills in C++
- Experience with software design, especially in complex systems with dependencies
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with adjacent teams
- Willingness to embrace new challenges, learn things quickly and commit to achieving project goals
- BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with the development of simulation engines or autonomy systems (perception, motion planning, control systems).
The base salary range for this position is $162,000-$260,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
