We're looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Shared Platform Services team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Software Engineering in Bangalore, you'll be responsible for:
- Participating in the engineering effort for the development and maintenance of the Zscaler Zero-Trust Cloud User Interface
- Working closely with the UI design team to implement intuitive and accessible user interfaces, leveraging UX best practices and a component library
- Collaborating with the product team to define and implement functional requirements that align with business goals
- Developing high-quality, maintainable code with thorough unit and end-to-end (E2E) tests using frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright
- Advocating for UI platform priorities, ensuring alignment with long-term architectural goals and business needs
What We’re Looking For (Minumum Qualifications)
- 6+ years of professional experience as a front-end engineer (5+ years of experience in React), with Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience with JavaScript and developing UI components using React
- Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles
- Experience in designing and implementing efficient and scalable GraphQL and REST APIs that serve the frontend effectively
- Experience in addressing key UI concerns such as scalability, performance and security to maintain a high-quality user experience
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Strong understanding of front-end build tools, package managers, monorepos and version control systems (e.g., Nx, npm, git)
- Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes
- Understanding of AWS services (e.g. Cloudfront, EC2, S3) and their application in secure, scalable, and highly available UI deployments
