Position Summary:

Trend Micro is a world-leading cybersecurity company building the next generation of security services to make the digital world a safer place to do business.

We’re seeking a Staff Front End Developer to lead cross-team initiatives and set AI-native & micro-frontend direction and developer experience. You will operate as a builder, bridge, and teacher raising the bar within and across teams, shaping how we deliver customer value, and mentoring others to do the same.

Join a collaborative, innovative frontend team defining our UI platform, building well-architected frontend experiences that delight customers. You and your team will shape how users interact with AI-powered security with agentic and human-in-the-loop workflows, to reduce cognitive load, make sophisticated insights actionable and present the face of our current and next-generation AI-driven security innovations at scale.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for someone who…

  • Thinks and operates at system level, able to connect dots across teams, products, and platforms to deliver cohesive customer experiences.

  • Leads initiatives with the team, makes pragmatic trade-offs, and keeps teams aligned on outcomes.

  • Champions an “AI-native” mindset, safely and ethically adopting agentic and AI-enabled workflows to accelerate quality and delivery.

  • Is an inclusive leader and clear communicator who tailors messaging to different audiences and promotes morale, cooperation, and accountability.

  • Balances business, technical, and team needs, understands the intent behind requirements and designs for the future while delivering value now.

  • Elevates others as a coach and creates growth opportunities for engineers around them.

  • Owns results end-to-end with consistency and integrity, remaining visible and dependable during ambiguity and change.

As a Staff Front End Developer on the team, in your day-to-day you will…

  • Plan and execute large, cross-team projects—coordinate parallel workstreams, align dependencies and milestones, manage risk, and keep stakeholders informed for predictable delivery.

  • Partner across Product, Design, Backend/Platform, Security, and Customer teams to translate intent into scalable solutions and measurable outcomes.

  • Mentor and level up engineers, use code reviews to teach and learn, create documentation and internal talks to share knowledge broadly.

  • Define and evolve frontend best practices with team input—establish PR review guidelines, lead sprint planning and retrospectives—and maintain a living knowledge base covering core libraries, platform integration, auth flows, data fetching, observability, component conventions, accessibility, i18n/l10n, secure coding, and key design decisions.

  • Set architecture and technical direction for micro-frontends and cross-module integration. Design and implement reusable frontend infrastructure with robust branching, development, and deployment strategies.

  • Establish and champion comprehensive test strategies across feature teams, raise quality bars and expand automated coverage.

  • Optimize developer experience and CI/CD for the web: build pipelines, release orchestration, canary strategies, and safe rollbacks.

  • Embed ethical AI practices: select tools, define guardrails, integrate agentic capabilities, and evolve processes to amplify productivity.

  • Contribute to hiring—interview, assess, and help build a diverse and talented team.

  • Own and operate critical frontend services, lead incident response during business hours, drive blameless post-incident learning, and make resilient design improvements.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and reduce risk; advocate for cutting scope or investing more when it serves customer value.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to tailor messages to stakeholder, cross-functional team, and engineers.

  • Experience with ethical AI tool usage to enhance productivity and quality, including establishing team guardrails and workflows.

  • Professional-level proficiency in the Web Platform: HTML, modern CSS, browser APIs, JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Proven track record architecting frontend or multi-application UI platforms and shipping at scale in React or modern frameworks (e.g., Astro, Next.js, Vue).

  • Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and making decisions with broad impact, able to influence without authority and build consensus.

  • Strong knowledge of frontend tooling and build systems (Vite, Webpack, linters), package management (npm/yarn), multi-repo or monorepo strategies.

  • Experienced with accessibility (WCAG) and internationalization/localization practices for enterprise applications.

  • Robust testing skills across unit, integration, and E2E (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Puppeteer/Playwright) and test strategy definition.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with modern AI web application technologies (e.g., CopilotKit, AG-UI protocol, AI SDKs) and patterns for agentic UI.

  • Stewardship of a component library used across multiple modules, versioning, and adoption strategies.

  • Knowledge or experience with AWS and serverless web delivery (S3, CloudFront, Lambda@Edge) or equivalents in other clouds.

  • Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, SST) and automated CI/CD pipelines, release management, canary, and feature flagging.

  • Observability for frontend: RUM, synthetic monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting, defining SLIs/SLOs for web experiences.

  • Awareness of containerization (Docker), CDNs, caching strategies, and edge rendering patterns.

  • Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Pendo) and experimentation platforms.

  • Strong understanding of privacy and security requirements in enterprise SaaS, ideally within cybersecurity.

If you’re passionate about building scalable platforms, influencing across teams, and empowering others to deliver secure, high-quality experiences, we would love to talk.
