Job Description
- To plan, train, supervise and motivate his subordinates to achieve the department goals through the set of values of the Company. Periodically review and evaluate subordinates performance.
- Responsible to develop, characterize and optimize processes for new product introduction/development and sustaining product engineering activities based on proper studies (e.g. Design of Experiment, risk assessment, equipment & process capability).
- Lead control plan and PFMEA development and maintenance activities
- Generate and maintain the standardized work documents.
- Define equipment preventive maintenance plan in close collaboration with maintenance team. Provide training on machine maintenance, operation and processes when necessary. Assist in major machine breakdown troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support or solutions for SMT process to resolve critical issues in production line.
- To participate and review traceability for respective area and improve timely.
- Responsible for process & yield improvement, cost reduction and cycle time reduction. Apply statistical method, systematically problem solving tools (e.g. fault tree analysis, 3x5xwhy, DOE, 6-Sigma, Kepner Tregoe) or management tool (e.g. CIP) to get desired results.
- To work closely with other department to comply, standardize and improve processes via PFMEA and PRE/PRP.
- Perform equipment capability study and process evaluation. If necessary, prepare ROI and organize collateral purchase.
- To achieve the department goal through continuous process improvement activities.
- Provide support in process and line audits, technical advice request from outsources workbench (EWB) and project team.
- Any other duties assigned by superior from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Material Engineering or relevant fields.
- Min 5 years experiences in SMT process and experiences in leading/ coaching.
- Possess practical and theoretical know-how which he/she could apply in new and changing contexts and coach others on the competence and serve as a subject-matter expert in the section.
- Example of knowledge areas are SMT equipment and processes, production defect categories, lean production concept, SPC and statistics, software Minitab, PCB basics, Control plan and P-FMEA.
- Knowledge of rework, X-ray and physical analysis methods are added advantages.
- Understand interaction among different aspects of incoming material, equipment, process, product design and able to integrate these for problem solving and for process optimization and stabilization.
- Good analytical and comprehensive problem solving capability to drive for conclusive technical cause finding; attention to details.
- Familiar in working with 8D process, FTA, Ishikawa diagram.
