- Develop silicone, silane or hybrid (Epoxy, Acrylate, PU, Silicone) coating solutions to meet the fast growing and versatile functional coating applications in Consumer Electronics and Automotives.
- Create innovative glass coating solutions leveraging different chemistries, such as: silicone, silane, hybrid silane, resins and functionalized particles to meet customer needs (e.g. abrasion, weathering, clarity, processability)
- Develop solid understanding of relevant patent landscape and obtain effective patent coverage for proprietary technology and processes
- Effectively managing multiple projects, ensuring clear alignment of goals and deliverables with business and market needs
- Demonstrate the benefits of new product technologies in target applications and develop compelling data to support external product promotion, including publications at customers trade shows, and industry conferences. Provide professional customer support related to the use of new products, including travel to customer sites as needed.
The following are required for the role
- MS in Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, or Materials Science/Chemistry/Chemical engineering with demonstrated emphasis on chemistry, synthesis
- Minimum 8 years-experience in novel coating (novel substrates: Metal, Glass, Films; Silicone chemistry, Epoxy and PU chemistry; PVD, Nano-spray,…) with a product development role
- Experience of coaching and leading technicians
- Acceptable oral and written communication skills in English a must.
- Demonstrated successful interaction with multidisciplinary teams in a product development role, as evidenced by commercial or near-commercialization products, trade, conferences or similar technical publications.
- Demonstrated creativity in devising innovative products resulting from close interaction with customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering and/or a similar Scientific degree focusing on synthetic chemistry (silicone chemistry preferred)
- Work experience in the field of product formulation (UV acrylic chemistry, organic Silicone industry) >5 years with people managing experience
- Industry experience: glass coating, consumer electronics coating
- Comprehensive knowledge in Silicone chemistry or PU/Epoxy/Acrylic chemistry
- Experience with different coating process: flow coating, dip coating, spray coating, inkjeting, PVD etc. and understand the formulation-properties relationship.
- Consistently pursuing innovation, open for learning
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Prior work experience in a global cross-functional environment a plus.
