If you are passionate about being part of a team that brings multiple technologies together and address real life business needs, you will be a great fit as an SAP Basis Engineer in the Enterprise Applications team at Palo Alto Networks, Santa Clara, USA
As an SAP Basis Engineer, you will interface directly with Infrastructure, Networking, BSA’s and Technical teams to understand the requirements and support various business functions and systems capabilities. We are transforming our software delivery practices to bring in greater agility.
You will apply an open communication and collaborative style and lead by example, being both customer-centric and service-minded, able to interact with cross functional stakeholders, BSAs, and technical colleagues – creating consensus and clear strategy where appropriate.
Your Impact
- Own & drive SAP Infrastructure of Palo Alto’s to meet future needs, scalability, keeping industry-leading best-practices in mind
- Be part of and drive the design, engineering efficiency and optimize the development process for continuous product delivery
- Implement solutions to streamline processes, reduce redundancy, enhance internal customers experience
- Maintenance and Support
- Monitor system performance and resolve issues proactively to minimize downtime and customer impacts
- Conduct regular audits of data quality and integrity, implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Provide ongoing support and training to users, ensuring they are equipped to leverage SAP effectively
- Best Practices and Documentation
- Establish and enforce best practices for SAP Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures
- Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT and business units, to align SAP Std capabilities with business objectives
- Strong knowledge of SAP BASIS & SECURITY on SAP Products like SAP S/4 HANA, SLT, PI/PO, GRC, SOLMAN & SAP SAAS Offerings in BTP
- Hands on experience handling certificate upgrades, IP Whitelisting, Network concepts, MTLS / Oauth Authentication, Integrating 3rd party systems with SAP
- Admin on RPA Infrastructure, Celonis, Snaplogic is a plus
Qualifications
Your Experience
- Engineering graduate with 8+ years of work experience as a SAP technical consultant in a customer facing/supporting role (IT services in Cloud environment, consulting, IT BASIS & SECURITY support)
- 5+ years of Strong experience of SAP BASIS & SECURITY on SAP Products like SAP S/4 HANA, SLT, PI/PO, GRC, SOLMAN & SAP SAAS Offerings in BTP
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Basis activities, technical support in Cloud environments esp with hyperscalers, SAP release upgrades, infrastructure updates, OS/DB migration
- Technical expertise in HANA Database Administration - provide professional expertise and practical assistance in HA, DR, Backup, Recovery, Security & Performance enhancements
- Practical understanding of infrastructure & Network operations & processes, with understanding of escalation handling for Service, Incident & Change procedures
- Good hands-on knowledge of operating systems (LINUX & Windows) with a good understanding of the networking requirements of the SAP environment
- Automation of SAP Basis tasks through different development & scripting approaches
- Excellent customer focus, results oriented, self-organized with quick decision making skills
- Provide On-call support during weekdays and weekends as per the schedule
Certifications
- SAP HANA Installing and administering (preferred)
- Additional SAP certifications are a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to keep up with current technology trends to assess and make recommendations on processes, designs, operations, in keeping with the latest technology
- Working ONSITE with the team at HQ in California, including working with business partners to collect requirements and conduct UAT sessions

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $110000/YR - $178000/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
