Saint Joseph's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Registered Professional Nurse for our Ambulatory Surgery Department with demonstrated skills in core and primary care specific competencies based on the patient population served.
Must have at least 1-2 years medical/surgical experience. Duties include: Observing patients for side effects of anesthesia, monitoring and recording patients vital signs, monitoring patient’s level of consciousness throughout sedation recovery, performing post-operative tasks such as administering medication or changing dressings, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physicians and other members of the patient’s care team, providing comfort and answering questions when patients awake from sedation, educating patients and families regarding their post-surgery care at home. Schedule will be 11AM-7PM with rotating weekends.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed in NY State
- BLS/ALS/PALS Required
