Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive, person-centered nursing care within the Women’s Specialty Center.
• Support the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of the WSC Menopause/Midlife Health Program.
• Serve as a resource and point of contact for patients, helping them navigate referrals, appointments, testing, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Provide patient education, clinical triage, telephone/MyChart support, and coordination of care within established nursing protocols.
• Coordinate surgical scheduling and booking activities, including pre-operative planning, patient communication, and coordination with surgical and clinical teams.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, surgical teams, and other multidisciplinary staff to facilitate timely and coordinated care.
• Assist with the development and refinement of clinical and operational workflows as new WSC programs and services are established.
• Provide nursing support across WSC specialties based on patient volume and operational needs.
• Provide clinical nursing coverage within the Antenatal Testing Unit (ATU) and other WSC clinical areas as needed.
• Perform and/or support non-stress testing (NST) and other applicable antenatal assessments within established protocols and competency requirements.
• Assist with care coordination for patients receiving services across multiple WSC specialties.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement, program development, and other initiatives supporting WSC clinical operations.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work across specialties and adapt to changing patient-care needs.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable professional standards.
Experience Requirements:
• Experience caring for patients across women’s health, obstetrics, menopause/midlife health, maternal-fetal medicine, or other specialty services.
• Experience with surgical coordination, procedural scheduling, or perioperative patient preparation.
• Experience with patient navigation and care coordination.
• Experience developing or implementing new clinical programs or workflows.
• Experience performing and/or supporting fetal non-stress testing in an obstetric setting.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary specialty center or complex ambulatory care environment.
• Flexibility to provide nursing support across multiple clinical areas within the WSC, including the Antenatal Testing Unit, as operational and patient-care needs require.
Education Requirements:
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) preferred.
