Position Summary:

Responsible in leading and performing design activities of RF and microwave components/circuits.  Mentor less experienced engineering staff. Work closely with customers to fulfill program requirements. Perform complex design activities with no supervision. Support qualification and design verification efforts. Perform detailed compliance analysis and performance estimates for existing processes and technologies. In depth knowledge/understanding of state of the art analysis tools and techniques. Anticipate technology advancements and applicability to TTM’s technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer specifications and drawings to assist in proposal and development efforts.

  • Estimate timeframe of design efforts. Review technical aspects and time estimates from peers or other engineering functions.

  • Work independently or within a team environment. Ensure that project schedules are met.

  • Act as the prime technical lead to ensure customer needs are met.

  • Responsible for product development from design through production release.

  • Follow established design approaches and propose new and innovative design techniques.

  • Understand manufacturing methods and limitations. Assess and propose new fabrication processes and technologies.

  • Prepare presentations for gated internal and customer design reviews. Review and critique team member presentations.

  • Review top-level test results and check for correctness of data and reduction methods.

  • Provide training and guidance to engineers, interns, co-ops and technicians. Develop training material.

  • Understand customer requirements and take appropriate action to meet expectations.

  • Assess design trade-offs, cost and performance implications, and make appropriate recommendations.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High-level understanding of microwave theory including system performance. Practical microwave design experience in the frequency range of 1 to 40 GHz.

  • Ability to design experiments, analyze the data and conduct structured problem solving.

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to document technical specifications and furnish design review presentations.

  • Strong problem solving abilities and decision-making skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, HFSS and circuit simulation tools including ability to recommend software upgrades and additions.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Lead other engineering disciplines. Regular customer interface.

  • Strong time management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Ability to act as a technical lead and mentor on military and space projects.

  • Ability to write specifications and proposals, and present technical material.

  • Actively pursues opportunities to expand job-related knowledge.

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 9 Years Relevant Experience

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent (PhD preferred)

  • Electrical Engineering with RF/microwave engineering concentration and focus on Electromagnetic Fields

Substantial experience in design and test of RF/Microwave components or subsystems is required. Military and/or space industry experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$125,006 - $219,838

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
