Position Overview
Analog Devices is looking for an intelligent and versatile Staff RFIC Design Engineer to work with our RF Semiconductors team, based in Istanbul, Turkey. This role will drive product developments such as RF Beamformers, Up-Down Converters, Mixers, Detectors, Switches, Attenuators, Filters, Phase Shifters, Amplifiers for various markets, and will take a lead role in solving complex technical problems and guiding technical direction across projects.
Context on the role
As a Staff RFIC Design Engineer, you will operate as a key technical contributor in a complex and critical environment. You’ll lead problem resolution with significant latitude, anticipate change, and redirect efforts as needed. You’ll act as a resource for colleagues with less experience by mentoring and providing technical direction, and you’ll influence effectively across and up/down the organization.
Job Duties
- Integrated circuit design at transistor level for RF blocks
- Technical leadership on ambiguous or high-impact design challenges, including defining approach, tradeoffs, and success criteria
- Design evaluation and silicon bring-up, including first-silicon characterization, root-cause analysis, and driving corrective iterations
- Design and development for RF products across various process and packaging technologies
- Development of methods and solutions, contributing to improved design approaches, models, or workflows where appropriate
- Project and cross-functional leadership, including clear technical communication to enable alignment across organizational lines
- Documentation and communication, producing required reports and communicating results and recommendations clearly
- Mentorship, guiding the technical growth and professional behaviors of lower-level engineers through coaching and technical direction
Requirements
- M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering (PhD preferred) or equivalent
- Typically requires 7+ years relevant experience
- Solid understanding of S-parameters, transmission line theory, and RF networks
- Demonstrated ability to innovate, design, simulate, and verify circuit performance at transistor level and behavioral/architectural level, with strong RF fundamentals
- Experience in circuit design environments such as Cadence and ADS
- Skills in electromagnetic simulators such as EMPro and/or HFSS (plus)
- Demonstrated IC tape-out experience is needed
- Experience with test equipment and RF characterization (plus)
- Strong technical judgment and ability to develop resolutions to complex problems involving in-depth analysis and variable factors
- Motivated, results-oriented, and organized, with strong writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to learn new topics quickly, take calculated risks, and operate effectively with ambiguity
- Ability to influence and promote teamwork and technical excellence within and beyond the immediate organization
