Job Description
Responsibilities:

Execute reliability tests for a Kafka-based data platform that streams data from devices to the cloud.

Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure continuous reliability and performance.

Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement to enhance reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and develop testing strategies.

Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on system reliability, performance, and scalability.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data streaming and platform reliability.

Implement best practices for reliability engineering and contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform.

Track reliability performance using observability and monitoring frameworks like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.

Collaborate with product owner and architect to understand performance, scalability & reliability requirements & application workflows.

As part of the agile scrum team, Identify the scope of the requirement for the upcoming release, provide initial estimate, and justify the estimate with facts, quality metrics adherence.

Accountable for the Definition of Done for reliability user stories and execution cycles.

Prepare reliability & performance test plans, manage setup required for test execution and demonstrates ability to analyse test results.
Requirements:
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
-
8+ years of proven experience in reliability engineering with strong knowledge in system engineering. Candidate should have strong knowledge in testing and signing off availability & reliability of a distributed data-streaming platform

Candidate should have hands on experience in component level reliability testing, system level reliability testing.

5+ years of experience in Kafka-based data platforms with strong knowledge in Kafka architecture and data streaming concepts.

5+ years of experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (Cucumber, Jmeter preferred)
-
5+ years of strong knowledge in Java and Microservices.
-
5+ years of experience in Kubernetes for container orchestration.
-
2+ years of experience in AWS.
-
Experience with observability and monitoring frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
-
Experience in any of the chaos testing frameworks are preferred
-
Knowledge of testing and signing of DR/BG of a software / platform are preferred
-
Knowledge of CI/CD/CT processes using GitLab.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Working knowledge in configuration management and defect management tools - (ALM/Rally/ClearQuest)
