What You'll Do:

  • Innovate & Optimize: Design and implement robust quality assurance and test processes for complex subsystems of end-user applications.

  • Automate & Integrate: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated testing frameworks, ensuring seamless integration into the development lifecycle.

  • Collaborate & Lead: Collaborate closely with software engineers in the Rancher Observability team, ensuring that observability capabilities are seamlessly integrated and thoroughly tested across Rancher’s enterprise Kubernetes management system

  • Analyze & Debug: Write and execute comprehensive testing plans, identify issues, and create innovative solutions to enhance software and firmware architecture.

  • Agile & DevOps: Participate in daily stand-ups, driving quality initiatives in an agile environment, and integrating testing processes into DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

What You'll Bring:

  • Extensive Experience: 8-10 years in quality assurance, with a strong background in software testing, automation, and DevOps practices.

  • Observability Expertise: Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, or Jaeger, covering logs, traces, metrics, and alerts.

  • Kubernetes Knowledge: Proficiency in Kubernetes and container technologies, with a keen understanding of the latest advancements.

  • Programming Proficiency: Fluency in Java, Scala, and Go, with experience in building maintainable and well-tested backend and UI automation code.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor test teams, with a strong track record of driving quality projects to success.

  • Linux Savvy: Comfortable working in a Linux environment, with outstanding debugging, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.

  • Efficiency: Optimize testing frameworks and strategies to ensure that the observability features within Rancher Observability are highly performant, scalable, and resilient, especially in multi-tenant environments
