About the Role

We're looking for a Staff Product Operations Manager to be a force multiplier in realizing the full potential of Aurora's mapping operations and technology for self-driving. As a Staff Product Operations Manager, you'll bring a blend of strategic, operational, and product experience to drive alignment across our organization, optimize operational processes, and accelerate product development velocity. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Product Program Management, Design, System Safety, and more.

You'll report to the Senior Manager, Mapping Operations and be a partner in shaping the future of the team. As a role model and mentor, you'll help establish and reinforce best practices towards data-driven decision making, process standardization, operational excellence, and software development support.

In this role, you will

  • Become an expert in the end-to-end mapping system, advising and collaborating with domain experts to develop, launch, and assess impact of new software capabilities
  • Serve as an advocate for Mapping Operations by leveraging data to identify and prioritize opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies
  • Closely aligned with engineering roadmaps and sprint-level objectives to ensure operational readiness to test and productionize new software developments (e.g. initiate training, documentation, process changes)
  • Establish scalable program management frameworks and best practices to enhance cross-functional collaboration and ensure consistency across the team
  • Develop detailed projects plans and experiments with clear objective, structure, and analytical rigor
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to share project updates and business reports tailored for widely varied audience of peers, stakeholders, and executives 
  • Foster a culture around continuous improvements, product mindset, and operational excellence 

Required Qualifications 

  • 6+ years of related work experience, particularly in Product Management, Product Operations, Business Strategy & Operation, or Technical Program Management 
  • Passion for execution and getting things done with a sense of urgency
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, ability to influence without authority across departments and build support
  • Strong analytical abilities to develop data-driven proposals and define KPIs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in communicating nuanced, and often technical concepts to internal stakeholders
  • Proven experience in creating and driving efficient process improvements that can scale
  • Embraces challenges and thrives in a fast-paced environment, ability to work through ambiguity

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Product or Operations experience in the AV space, ideally mapping or data annotation
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization using SQL or Python

The base salary range for this position is $112,000-$180,000 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
