WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead the next phase of our AI financial coach, evolving it into a fully personalised, adaptive, conversational system that guides consumers towards their goals.
- Partner with AI/LLM engineers to shape and refine the conversational and predictive behaviours of the coach — from how it reasons about money to how it guides users through budgeting, avoiding fees, and planning ahead.
- Define and continuously improve evaluation approaches — both quantitative and qualitative — to monitor accuracy, tone, clarity, safety, and how well the coach completes real financial-coaching tasks.
- Define the coaching logic, personalisation rules, and “reasoning framework” of the coach — when to nudge, when to step in, when to stay quiet.
- Own the AI × human interaction design: tone, empathy, trust, explainability, safety, and compliance ensuring it hits the desired brand tone of voice.
- Measure outcomes not only through engagement but visible improvements in financial health (savings, fewer overdrafts, more stability) from a consumer’s open banking data.
- Design and iterate on engagement systems that make progress towards positive financial habits rewarding (streaks, milestones, progress bars, missions, challenges).
- Own motivational loops built on behavioural science — turning short-term actions into long-term habits without manipulation or compliance risk.
- Partner with UX researchers and behavioural scientists to define user psychology frameworks that demonstrate real behavior change.
- Collaborate with data teams to personalise challenges and goals based on each user’s behaviour, needs, and risk profile.
- Define and track key behavioural engagement metrics such as DAU/MAU, streak completion, task participation, and retention as well as the key financial metrics - unit product economics and overall financial viability of the GoConsumer service.
- Work with Product Marketing to position these gamified experiences as a core part of our narrative and differentiation in a crowded market.
- Leverage technical understanding (CS, AI, ML, modern architecture) to work seamlessly with engineering, make smart trade-offs, and maintain scalability and security.
- Present product strategy, learnings, and performance to executive leadership.
- Partner tightly with Compliance, Risk, Data, and Operations to ensure everything meets regulatory and safety standards.
- Drive us toward product-market fit by identifying the highest-value user problems, validating what truly moves financial outcomes, and rapidly iterating the coach’s behaviours, features, and engagement loops based on real user data, experiments, and feedback.

What We Do
At Trustly, we envision a world in which online payments are fast, simple and secure for everyone — merchants, consumers and banks alike.
One hundred years ago, cash was king. People got paid in cash, carried it in their wallets, and bought things with it at the local store. Payment was easy.
Oh, how the times have changed.
Today, our salaries are deposited straight into our bank accounts and we shop online, from merchants all around the world. So why is it so hard to pay straight from our bank accounts?
For consumers, paying online should be as easy as sliding a bill across the counter. And accepting payments and issuing refunds should be the least of merchants’ worries. Credit cards, debit cards, e-wallets, invoices and cash-on-delivery are all middlemen levying fees, debt and interest for the simple task of moving money from one person to another.
At Trustly, we work hard to make online payments easy.
