Over the years, our mission has expanded to include helping people with other forms of debt - such as refinancing credit cards, which are at all time highs in the US. And we’ve been able to refinance $6+ Billion in loans through our network of Splash, powered credit union and bank partners who leverage our marketplace and automated loan processing technology. And we’ve raised over $135 million from investors like partners of DST Global, Citi Ventures, TruStage Ventures, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, and more.
But at our core, we’re still that little company from Cleveland with a big dream: to make people more powerful than their debt and we’re just getting started..
Splash is remote-first, and proud of it — though our collections team works in-person at our Arizona location.
We spend our days simplifying financial products and getting them into the hands of people who need them most. Right now, we’re focused on building financial technologies that fundamentally transform how the industry lends.
Although Splash has been around since 2013, we still operate like a startup — fast-paced, nimble, and full of heart. We’re good people who care deeply about doing meaningful work and we approach challenges with creativity, passion, and urgency.
And to hire the best, we provide the best: great health insurance, competitive salaries, and unique benefits like quarterly meet-ups and access to engagement tools that keep us connected — even from afar.
At Splash, everything we do is guided by our values:
Own It – We take full accountability and follow through on commitments.
Raise the Bar – We move fast, innovate faster, and push through barriers.
Say the Hard Thing – We speak up with honesty, respect, and a desire to solve problems and make things better.
Elevate Each Other – We win as a team by lifting each other up.
These values show up in how we work and how we connect — whether we’re collaborating on big projects or bonding over everyday moments. Yes, we even have Slack channels for #kids-and-pets and #food because we believe being human makes us better teammates.
Splash Financial is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the launch and scale of our HELOC business, one of the highest-leverage growth bets in the company today. We're moving beyond a brokered lending model into full in-house underwriting and origination, bringing ownership of decisioning, verification, valuation, document generation, and closing in-house rather than relying on outside partners for that experience. You'll own the roadmap end-to-end: eligibility and decisioning, income and identity verification, property valuation, document generation and e-signing, and funding, along with the compliance-critical infrastructure that a home-secured lending product demands, including licensing and state disclosure timing requirements. You'll partner directly with Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Capital Markets, and you'll have direct visibility with our CPO and executive leadership given how central this bet is to the company's growth strategy. This is a rare opportunity to take a product from early-stage to scaled, in-house lending infrastructure, with the autonomy and stakes of a true 0-to-1 build.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT SPLASH:- Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for HELOC in-house underwriting: decisioning, borrower and property verification, document generation, funding, closing, and loan sales.
- Lead vendor and lending-partner strategy, evaluating and integrating third-party providers for valuation, document generation, and verification, and working with capital partners to expand program capacity and coverage.
- Build the scaling roadmap beyond launch: multi-partner program support, state and geographic expansion, repricing and fee structures, underwriting efficiency improvements, and the post-close servicing infrastructure the business doesn't yet have.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Marketing, and Capital Markets to sequence delivery, manage licensing and regulatory requirements, and keep the business unblocked through a leadership transition.
- Use funnel, conversion, and portfolio data to define success metrics, prioritize ruthlessly against engineering capacity, and communicate tradeoffs clearly to executive stakeholders.
- 8+ years of product management experience, including Staff-level or equivalent scope, with direct experience in mortgage, HELOC, secured lending, or complex regulated consumer lending products.
- A proven track record owning ambiguous 0-to-1 builds through to scale, ideally including experience standing up or migrating loan origination and underwriting infrastructure.
- Strong fluency with lending compliance and disclosure requirements (state-level timing rules, fair lending reporting, licensing) and comfort partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, and Legal.
- Vendor and partner relationship management experience: evaluating, negotiating, and integrating third-party providers into a live production system.
- Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to frame open-ended tradeoffs as clear decisions, manage cross-functional stakeholders, and “own it,” “raise the bar,” and “say the hard thing” while elevating the team around you.
The base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000 annually, based on market data and internal compensation practices. This role may also be eligible for a bonus component tied to individual and company performance. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and skill level.
SPLASHERS ENJOY:
- Fully remote work freedom (for most roles)
- Competitive salary packages
- Flexible PTO + 9 company holidays
- Equity: Share in our start-up success

- Fully paid Claude subscription to supercharge your work
- 401(k) for your future savings

What We Do
In 2013, we set out to solve a problem: we got tired of seeing our friends and family struggle under the crushing weight of student loan debt. Debt can hold people back from opportunities and delay the impact they’re meant to make in the world. So we did something about it and built a life raft; we started Splash Financial. We built a marketplace of banks and credit unions focused on helping people refinance their student loans. Our goal was simple: use the power of our network to deliver great rates and real savings. And we did it all from a tiny office in Cleveland, OH. In 2022, we expanded our products to help people tackle credit card debt, assisting more people to find better financial footing. By 2025, we launched a home equity line of credit product, allowing homeowners to leverage their equity to reduce costs in their everyday lives and unlock new possibilities. Throughout all this growth, we’ve helped more than 125,000 people refinance over $6 billion in loans and one thing has remained consistent: to make people more powerful than their debt! We’re here to make loan stuff way less complicated - and faster than you’d expect. Whether you’re refinancing student loans, consolidating credit card debt, or tapping into your home equity with a HELOC, we help you get your debt together quickly with our streamlined online process. How? Thanks to automated underwriting and our hybrid marketplace, you get matched with offers from banks and credit unions across the country — even the ones you’ve never heard of but wish you had. It’s all powered by seriously smart tech designed to get you approved quickly, so you can stop stressing and start saving. Fast, easy, and all at your fingertips.
Why Work With Us
