When you join our team, you become part of a community that works together to innovate, solve problems, grow, work hard and have a ton of fun in the process!
Why Work For Us
Grubhub is a place where authentically fun culture meets innovation and teamwork. We believe in empowering people and opening doors for new opportunities. If you're looking for a place that values strong relationships, embraces diverse ideas-all while having fun together-Grubhub is the place for you!
Grubhub's product team is looking for a customer-focused Staff Product Manager to deliver world-class products that enable our team mission to deliver the right message, through the right channel, at the right time across the entire customer lifecycle. As a senior contributor to the Customer Lifecycle Product team, your purview will span the many critical components of the customer experience, i.e.: rigorously evolving the capabilities of our messaging capabilities in service of a range of user and business needs, working closely with internal stakeholders on how to effectively leverage and evolve our messaging capabilities to support different objectives, and ensuring a positive customer experience across the entire portfolio of messaging experiences.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused product leader who has experience driving product strategy and execution on products in the customer messaging domain. You will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels across the organization including Senior Leadership. In addition, the ability to work backwards and think from a customer perspective is crucial. You will report directly to the Director of Product.
The Impact You Will Drive:

  • Craft and define the vision, strategy and plan for the Consumer Messaging platform, working closely with internal stakeholders and technical teams. Build a deep understanding of internal stakeholder needs as well as existing internal tools.
  • Drive overall messaging enablement strategy to meet internal demand as well as build for the right user experience. Experience building and maintaining tools for internal users that have a consumer objective is critical.
  • Evangelize your product direction by socializing roadmaps with key business stakeholders, creating forums for feedback, working with executive leadership to gather input and build alignment, and working with engineering, design and other teams to champion key projects.
  • Partner with other platform and enablement teams across Grubhub to identify and leverage adjacent system capabilities. Determine if and how to integrate messaging capabilities into other internal applications as needed.
  • Work closely with Growth Marketing stakeholders to build highly personalized capabilities that deepen audience engagement and drive user retention.
  • Lead projects through the definitional stages, working to ensure that we're working to solve the right problem and have clearly articulated problem statements and goals identified. Partner with Engineering, Design and stakeholders to make sure the proposed solution solves the defined problem and goals.
  • Leverage data and analytics, competitive analysis, and user research to inform product strategy and roadmap.
  • Act as an owner, ultimately accountable for the execution of your projects, working cross-functionally to unblock, pivot, and deliver results. Play a lead role in defining Go To Market strategy to ensure we achieve the desired goals.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in software development leadership, product management, program management, or similar roles within an Agile environment
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leadership across broad organizations including technology, marketing, sales, operations, and finance
  • Direct experience building consumer-facing messaging platforms and working on consumer products, including large-scale ecommerce platforms. Experience with A/B testing, web and native mobile application environments, and data analytics.
  • Superior communication skills, including the ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders, particularly within Growth Marketing and CRM Operations & Analytics. The platform we are building towards will be used by a diverse group of functions; the ability to emphasize with colleagues in these functions and anticipate their needs is critical for success in this role.
  • Strong technical understanding for areas of product development and advanced understanding at the architecture level.
  • Demonstrated experience working across the technology teams from UX, to data science and backend teams
  • Work independently to define complex problems, prioritize effectively and deliver effective and efficient solutions
  • 'Work out loud' to arrive at solutions collaboratively and iteratively
  • Think and communicate clearly, in a way that builds trust across functions and hierarchies
  • Able to influence outcomes and people without reporting lines
  • Manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with team members, while managing overarching priorities
  • An innate understanding of technology and how to use it to deliver outstanding and innovative products is a must
  • BA/BS
