Temporal Cloud is Temporal’s managed SaaS product, used by customers to run workloads with varying requirements for throughput, latency, resilience, isolation, data residency, and cost. Namespaces are the primary unit of isolation within Temporal Cloud.
In this role you’ll own the Cloud Namespace product surface end-to-end: ensuring customers can provision, configure, operate, and evolve Namespaces safely and effectively over time. You’ll partner with engineering teams to deliver customer-facing capabilities and shape internal operational systems for namespace placement, provisioning, capacity management, and more.
What You’ll DoOwn the full Cloud Namespace lifecycle for an operator using Temporal Cloud: understanding workload needs, provisioning and management flows, defining the right configuration defaults and policies, updates-in-place, and safe deletion.
Define and evolve differentiated Namespace offerings (e.g., higher/lower SLA, latency, durability, residency, and cost options) that are easy for customers to understand and trust.
Own throughput and capacity management for Namespaces (e.g., autoscaling, TRUs, reserved vs. elastic capacity, scheduling, visibility, limits, and quotas).
Drive operational policy and features (Namespace placement in deployment rings, replication, scaling) to deliver highly performant, reliable, and cost-effective service at massive multi-tenant scale.
Define and own Namespace SLOs and SLAs, including instrumentation and customer-facing communication of performance and reliability expectations.
Own the Namespace APIs & configuration used by customer automation, the Temporal Cloud UI, and other products and services.
Product leadership experience shipping and operating platform/infrastructure products, especially where reliability, performance, and cost tradeoffs matter.
Strong systems thinking: ability to translate workload needs into tiering, pricing, policy, quotas/limits, and defaults that scale across many customers.
Comfort partnering closely with engineering on technical topics like autoscaling, capacity planning, rolling deployment and placement logic, and resilience patterns—even if you’re not writing production code.
Experience defining and managing SLOs/SLAs and using metrics to drive product decisions and prioritization.
Ability to build alignment across stakeholders (Engineering, Cloud Ops/SRE, Support, Sales, Solutions, Security) and make clear, durable decisions in ambiguous environments.
Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce crisp PRDs, decision docs, and customer-facing explanations.
Experience with multi-tenant systems, workload isolation, and “noisy neighbor” mitigation.
Familiarity with API product design for long-lived resource lifecycle operations and safe evolution over time.
Background working on placement, routing, data residency, or geo-distributed reliability problems.
Experience building pricing/packaging inputs for tiered services in partnership with Finance/GTM.
