As a Staff Product Designer at The Leap, you will play a vital role in defining the user experience to ensure success for both our creators and our business. Working collaboratively with Product and Engineering, you’ll work to shape the direction of our most impactful experiences. Reporting to the Director of Experience Design, you’ll lead by example on the Experience Design team—mentoring, collaborating, and contributing to a culture of design excellence and growth.

Your goal will be to create a best-in-class creator experience on The Leap. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • Design Ownership: Lead end-to-end UX and design for The Leap, from initial concept through launch, ensuring quality and customer focus
  • Vision & Strategy: Collaborate with leadership and your team to set a clear UX vision and strategic roadmap, driving product direction and aligning with business goals
  • User-Centered Research: Conduct and apply customer research in a scrappy yet effective way, making data-informed design decisions that reflect creators’ needs
  • Rapid Prototyping & Testing: Build and test design prototypes quickly to validate concepts, moving seamlessly from high-level strategy to hands-on execution
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product, design, and engineering to solve creator problems, ensuring cohesive, inclusive, and accessible design practices throughout an iterative, agile process

The person we have in mind likely:

  • Has 5+ years of experience in a Product or Experience Design role, likely in a startup or fast-paced environment
  • Shares a strong portfolio of design work that clearly articulates their role in each project and demonstrates an ability to apply critical thought
  • Thrives in ambiguous, entrepreneurial environments and is excellent at balancing speed with strategic design thinking
  • Utilizes a hypothesis-driven approach to design, creating and testing assumptions to validate ideas and guide iterative improvements
  • Has hands-on experience with both qualitative and quantitative user research methods, leveraging data and insight to both make and measure decisions
  • Loves to learn and grow! They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Familiarity with conversion rate optimization and product-led growth design strategies and patterns
  • Knowledge of analytics tools and techniques for tracking and measuring design impact

The recruitment compensation range for this position is $139,000 - $165,000 CAD. Your specific compensation within this range is determined based on your job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and our internal equity assessment.
