Grubhub Design is seeking a talented Staff Product Designer to join our Design Systems team. In this role, you will be instrumental in evolving and maintaining Cookbook, Grubhub's comprehensive design system. Your work will empower design and product teams to create high-quality, consistent experiences more efficiently. You will also help define the vision for the design system and uphold the highest standards of design quality across the organization.
The Impact You Will Make:

• Create designs, specifications, and documentation for new components and patterns that serve diverse user experiences, including consumers, drivers, and restaurants
• Work closely with product designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand user needs and business goals, ensuring the design system supports the organization's objectives
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering leadership to identify and prioritize product areas in need of component discovery, setting the vision and quality bar for the design system
• Foster strong working relationships and continuously champion Cookbook across the business.
• Refine and enhance the design system by incorporating feedback and staying current with design trends and best practices
• Build and maintain Figma libraries of Cookbook components, ensuring they utilize the latest features
• Guide and support designers in using Cookbook components effectively
• Maintain and improve component documentation and design guidelines
• Partner with engineering counterparts to ensure consistent execution of design ideas across iOS, Android, and Web platforms
• Work with Design Systems leadership to define frameworks, workflows, and best practices for design system processes
• Collaborate with Design Systems leadership to build and maintain an effective onboarding program for designers, engineers, and product managers
• Work with the marketing team to ensure consistency with the brand's look and feel
• Enhance documentation and governance efforts to ensure the design system's scalability and consistency

What you Bring to the Table:

• Min of 6 years of experience contributing to and maintaining a design system
• Strong UX/UI design skills with a portfolio showcasing beautiful craftsmanship and competence in typography, color, iconography, and animation
• Deep understanding of native mobile and responsive design methodologies and patterns
• High level of expertise with Figma
• Confidence to move projects forward independently while synthesizing feedback from various teams and functions
• Ability to collaborate closely with engineers and discuss technical details
• Ability to research, analyze, and make decisions based on multiple sources, including usability best practices, user research, feedback from product designers, A/B testing, analytics, and other design systems
• Acute self-awareness and deep empathy for Grubhub's customers, as well as for the designers, engineers, and product managers you'll work with.

The base salary ranges for this position are below. The ranges provided exclude other forms of compensation such as equity and bonus.
New York: $167,000 - $251,000 base salary range
Grubhub uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. In addition to the base salary, the role might also come with equity and other pay incentives as part of the full compensation package.
