We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Diagnostics Engineer to join our hardware/software integration team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in diagnostics development and bring hands-on experience with Diagnostics for Board Support Packages (BSP), Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC), ASIC, SERDES interfaces, and OSFP modules. This role is critical in ensuring system reliability, performance validation, and early-stage hardware bring-up for next-generation network and compute platforms.
ResponsibilitiesOwn the Diagnostics for Board Support Packages (BSP), Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC), ASIC, SERDES interfaces, and OSFP modules
- Develop and maintain diagnostic software and tools for hardware validation and system health monitoring.
- Work closely with vendor hardware, firmware, and software teams to bring up and validate new boards and platforms.
- Design and implement diagnostics for components such as SERDES links, OSFP modules, high-speed interfaces, memory subsystems, and onboard sensors.
- Develop and integrate diagnostics into BSPs and BMC firmware for pre-boot testing and system monitoring.
- Collaborate with ASIC teams to validate interfaces and protocols using SDKs and internal test tools.
- Conduct root cause analysis on hardware and system-level issues and provide detailed technical documentation.
- Automate diagnostics testing and integrate into continuous integration (CI) pipelines.
- Support manufacturing and system engineering teams with diagnostic tools and procedures for production test.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s in Computer Science/ECE with 10+ years of experience or Masters in CS/ECE with 5+ years of experience.
- Switch/router embedded system software development experience
- Strong experience with:
- Board Support Packages (BSP) development and customization.
- Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) software and protocols (e.g., IPMI, Redfish).
- Packet Processor SDKs from vendors like Broadcom, Marvell, or similar.
- SERDES signal validation and link bring-up
- OSFP and other high-speed optical/electrical interface modules.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel, device trees, and bootloaders (U-Boot, Coreboot).
- Coding expertise in Programming languages such as C/C++/Python
- Strong debugging skills using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
- Experience with modern NOS like SONiC and familiarity with simulation environments and behavioral models such as BMv2 and ASIC simulations
