In this role, you will be a significant contributor to our People strategy, leading major initiatives that enhance organizational health and drive business results across key functions. You will act as a bridge between executive vision and functional execution.
In this role you will
- Execute Strategic Programs: Lead the design and delivery of major projects (e.g., org redesigns, specialized talent programs) that have broad applicability across multiple business units.
- Guide Functional Leadership: Serve as a key area expert and strategic advisor to leaders, sharing deep HR knowledge to clarify complex issues and guide functional decision-making.
- Drive Alignment & Communication: Masterfully manage stakeholders at all levels. You will ensure executive input is integrated into project design while effectively cascading information to ensure alignment across teams.
- Optimize Organizational Systems: Directly impact the effectiveness of your assigned functions by diagnosing system bottlenecks and implementing scalable models that improve cross-functional collaboration.
- Build Capability: Use data-driven insights to identify talent gaps and lead workforce planning efforts. You don't just identify needs; you build the systems to solve them.
- Collaborate for Impact: Partner across the People team (Legal, Finance, ER, etc.) to lead the seamless execution of solutions, ensuring that your work integrates with and elevates adjacent team goals.
- Thrive in a "Build-Phase" Environment: Ability to navigate and contribute to a rapidly scaling startup environment where People team processes are still being defined. You act as a foundational builder, establishing the systems and frameworks necessary to support a fast-moving business.
- Decisive Navigation of Ambiguity: Proven ability to operate effectively and make sound judgments in situations where data may be incomplete or processes are not yet established. You create clarity from chaos, moving initiatives forward by leaning on experience, intuition, and a bias for action.

Required qualifications
- Functional Expertise: You are a recognized authority in HR business partnering with a track record of leading high-stakes initiatives in a fast-paced or tech-heavy environment.
- Stakeholder Mastery: You excel at navigating complex organizational webs, gaining alignment among senior leaders, and managing the "upward and downward" flow of information.
- Systemic Problem Solving: You look beyond the immediate issue to understand how processes affect multiple teams. You design solutions that are sustainable and account for interdependencies.
- Data-Informed Execution: You translate metrics into action plans, using data to measure the success of your programs and pivot when necessary.
- Change Leadership: Proven ability to manage large-scale change, providing clarity in ambiguous situations and helping teams maintain momentum through transitions.
Desirable qualifications
- 8-10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, with a focus on leading major projects or functional areas within a scaling organization.
- Experience partnering with senior leadership (Director/ Senior Director level) to achieve alignment on key programs.
- Proven track record of project ownership, specifically designing and executing features or systems used by multiple teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (Advanced degree or HR certification preferred).
- Technology industry experience is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and manage executive-level input effectively.
- Fluent in English.
- Travel: Ability to travel within the U.S. approximately 10% of the time.
Work Style: This role requires being in the office at least 3 days per week.
The base salary range for this position is $133K - $215K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
