Role Purpose
The Reliability Engineer is an integral part of the Manufacturing Group’s daily operations. This role is located at our McIntosh, Alabama facility. An engineering career at Tate & Lyle may include an assignment at more than one location with the opportunity for international assignments. The Reliability Engineer role was designed to provide technical support to maximize the performance and life cycle of the plant’s operational assets. The Reliability Engineer plays a key role in the maintenance and reliability team ensuring the site maintains a reliability culture and in the long-term a reduction in asset lifecycle cost. He/she is responsible for growing the preventive and predictive maintenance programs with the goal of maximizing equipment reliability and uptime. This individual manages projects which increase asset reliability and deliver lower maintenance costs over time.
EHSQS-The Reliability Engineer is accountable for implementation and adherence requirements of the Tate and Lyle environmental health, safety, quality (Food Safety), and security system for the sucralose team.

As a key member of the McIntosh Operations Team incumbent shares overall responsibility for:
- Leading, modelling, and area accountability of adherence to global / local EHS Policy and Procedures
- Meeting individual objectives and targets for EHS performance and improvement
- Assigning responsibility and authority for EHS activities
- Providing the adequate resources needed to implement the policy
- Ensuring knowledge and skills are developed to effectively apply the EHS systems and standards
- Reviewing the EHS system to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness
- Actively communicating leadership and commitment that is visible to the organization

Main Accountabilities
The incumbent will
- Promote a safe work environment by setting an excellent example and exhibiting a strong commitment to safety.
- Primary ownership of Preventive Maintenance program development, optimization, and content.
- Serves as a key technical resource for the site on: Predictive Maintenance technologies, non-destructive testing, lubrication selection, Root Cause Failure Analysis, and Reliability Centered Maintenance.
- Optimizes and manages the Predictive Maintenance Program at the site.
- Provides troubleshooting support using predictive maintenance technologies and technical expertise, as needed.
- Champions the RCFA process and leads team efforts to analyze equipment failures and identifies changes required to prevent recurrence.
- Manages capital and expense projects to implement RCFA follow up actions, improve reliability of plant assets, and lower maintenance costs.
- Works with project engineers and operations teams to ensure reliability of new and modified assets, while minimizing total lifecycle costs
- Works with reliability coordinator and maintenance technicians to improve lubrication and predictive maintenance processes.
- Provides support to reliability coordinator for preventive maintenance optimization initiatives.
- Works directly with plant personnel at all levels to improve knowledge, techniques, and procedures which affect equipment reliability.
- Works closely with equipment vendors, repair facilities, and onsite maintenance team to ensure properly source equipment and repair techniques utilized.
- Communicates with other Maintenance & Reliability organizations (both internal and external) to share in benchmarking, best practices, etc.
- Develops and implements training to build the reliability culture and continuously improve.
- Works closely with engineering and maintenance team to ensure critical spare parts are properly sourced and maintained.
- Competent working in SAP for work notification reporting/tracking, PM scheduling, asset linked spare parts, and CAPEX functions.

The incumbent will be measured against site EHS, Quality, Production, Reliability and Leadership goals
Skills and Experience Required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 4 - 6 years experience in reliability engineering.
- Strong expertise in reliability concepts, PdM technologies, and RCA
- Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and troubleshoot equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and implement projects which improve the reliability of assets.
- Experience using root cause analysis, and predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, motion amplification, infrared, acoustic, etc.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of process equipment and components (e.g., pumps, fans, dryers, mills, blowers, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, motors, seals, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in use of SAP maintenance preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Preferred experience with continuous improvement concepts
Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.
When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.
The pay range for this position is: $95,000 - $130,600.
