Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position will support our Open RAN Center for Integration and Deployment (ORCID), serving a critical role in strengthening the global Open RAN ecosystem and building the next generation of wireless networks.

A Senior Systems Engineer with DISH Wireless will be directly working in environments supporting automated deployment and management on a cloud native environment. This role will work directly towards increasing automated recovery and zero touch provisioning using tools like: Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Gitlab, Jenkins, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor junior engineers and new team members, providing technical guidance
- Develop highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure designs and solutions
- Establish standards and guidelines for Virtualization Platform infrastructure design, development, deployment, and maintenance
- Proactively recommend updates to software or architecture before reaching capacity limits
- Develop automated incident response processes to eliminate the need for manual intervention
- Champion and communicate system metrics (MTBF, MTTR) to decision-makers regularly
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, with six years of experience or equivalent
- 6+ years of professional experience in Virtualization Platform services and tools
- 3+ years of programming experience in Java, C++, Perl, Python, Ruby, or advanced Shell scripting
Skills and Qualifications:
- Direct experience in bare-metal deployments of Virtualization Platform infrastructure
- Hands-on experience in Infrastructure-As-Code, automating deployments, cluster management, and systems security within a CI/CD Pipeline
- Experience with VMware on Cloud (VMC) on AWS and VMware infrastructure in large enterprise environments
- Knowledge of Kubernetes for containers and Microservices principles
- Practice of producing, maintaining, and versioning system documentation
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $157,300.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
