Staff Integrations Specialist LeadAbout the Role

We are seeking a Staff Integrations Specialist to join the Information and Business Technology (IBT) organization as the lead and key driver of our API and B2B eProcurement integration capabilities. In this high-impact individual contributor role, you will define process architecture, resolve complex integration challenges, and establish best practices for customer-facing B2B technology delivery across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate brings domain expertise in API Integrations, B2B eProcurement punchout, and customer-facing technical leadership. You will act as the principal bridge between complex customer systems and our core technologies, translating scientific workflows into scalable, robust solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Team Lead: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for customer-facing integrations, establishing standard operating procedures, design patterns, and scalability blueprints for APIs and B2B eProcurement technologies.
  • Complex Implementation Delivery: Lead end-to-end delivery of high-value, highly complex API-based integrations and B2B punchout solutions, handling difficult edge cases spanning authentication, custom data mapping, error handling, and real-time monitoring.
  • Technical Roadmap Ownership: Partner closely with Product and IBT leadership to shape the API and Punchout product roadmap, prioritizing feature requests, system enhancements, and architectural refactoring based on market needs.
  • Customer Collaboration & Translation: Work directly with enterprise customers' IT, procurement, and scientific teams to translate complex scientific requirements into seamless API intake and data-mapping specifications.
  • Platform Expertise: Direct and optimize B2B eProcurement punchout integrations across major platforms (e.g., Coupa, Jaggaer, SAP Ariba, Oracle/PeopleSoft) and protocols (cXML, OCI, EDI).
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Act as the primary liaison between customer procurement teams, third-party middleware providers, and internal product/business stakeholders to align on integration standards and mitigate go-live risks.
  • Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, integration playbooks, API specs, and troubleshooting frameworks to elevate the team's capabilities.
  • On-Site Technical Engagement: Travel to customer sites as needed to assist with complex onboarding, or resolve mission-critical integration bottlenecks.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related scientific/technical field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as a business systems analyst, technical integrations, solution architecture, or technical delivery within life sciences, technology, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of operating as a lead technical authority or staff-level individual contributor influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record as a senior- or lead-level technical contributor in customer-facing integration, technical product management, or systems engineering roles.
  • Experience with APIs, web services, and authentication methods
  • Experience with B2B eProcurement platforms (Coupa, Jaggaer, SAP Ariba, Oracle/PeopleSoft) and integration formats (cXML, OCI, EDI, JSON, XML).
  • Proven ability working with customers and mapping customer-specific needs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex, parallel technical implementations in a fast-paced, agile environment without direct management oversight.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts cleanly to both executives and software engineers.
  • High ownership and comfort operating across organizational boundaries rather than simply handing problems to another team.
  • High customer empathy paired with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Technical Product Manager, Solution Architect, or Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect.
  • Direct background working alongside enterprise Sales or Customer Success teams.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise eCommerce platforms and core business applications (e.g., Salesforce.com, SAP ERP/CRM).
