In this role, you will:
- Work on-site at our Dallas facility which is our center of excellence for fleet operations.
- Work hands on with Aurora’s self driving truck test fleet on a daily basis performing diagnostics, root cause analysis, instrumentation and prototype testing.
- Use a diverse set of applications and tools to deeply investigate system-level hardware issues which occur in the field of operations.
- OEM provided diagnostic tools such as Cummins Insite, Eaton ServiceRanger, Bendix KBDiag
- Work with measurement instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, thermocouples and CAN loggers.
- Develop measurement instrumentation methods as needed if OTS solutions are not available
- CANAlyzer, CANape or equivalent to log and plot CAN data and create custom scripts to run fault injection testing.
- Use of python and work with Linux command line tooling to analyze log files generated by the Aurora Driver and plot event data
- Develop tooling and dashboards to measure hardware performance and identify trends across large data sets.
- Coordinate cross-functional solutions with operations, service, and engineering teams.

- Develop custom instrumentation when needed, where existing logs do not provide sufficient data to identify root cause.
- Analyze log files and plot event data (Eg. CANAlyzer, python scripts) to reconstruct the series of events leading up to an issue.
- Ability to manipulate various forms of data, using coding languages including but not limited to SQL and Python, in order to investigate specific issues or analyze fleet performance at an aggregate level
- Ability to create rich technical reports summarizing complex issue investigations with quantifiable results.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to interpret and provide well-formed, objective feedback on complex system requirements, designs, and processes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across service, test operations, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Ability to handle a diverse set of daily tasks ranging from high-level process development to low-level field issue debugging.
