The Opportunity
Flock thrives on owning the complete product development lifecycle. As our energy solutions evolve, we're seeking a lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) in energy harvesting and storage to lead the development and implementation of robust, cutting-edge solutions. This role will champion a continuous improvement approach, fully owning innovation and expansion in this critical area.
The Skillset

Expert level understanding of lithium ion and derivative chemistry tech

Expert BMS designer (battery mgmt system) for packs ranging from 50Wh to 1KWh and 1S to 12S configurations

Expert knowledge of fuel gauge design and architecture

Advanced knowledge of lithium ion primary and secondary protection schemes

Expert knowledge of lithium ion charger architectures

Demonstrated success with shipping industrial grade lithium ion battery packs and associated chargers at volume

Deep understanding of current high density battery chemistry landscape and associated vendors

Proven track record working with tier one battery pack vendors and cell suppliers

Exposure to Energy harvesting technologies (inc but not limited to solar power)

Direct experience with solar energy harvesting tech including photo voltaics

Ownership and continuous improvement of flock’s expertise in all energy storage technologies

The Interview Process

The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field.

The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.

The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.

Salary & Equity
In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary between $141,200-$194,150 as well as Flock Safety Stock Options.

At Flock Safety, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators.
