About Redwood Materials

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

Staff Global Supply Manager

The Staff Global Supply Manager manages the purchasing of services, consumables, and specialty materials in either the CAPEX, Construction, and/or Indirects areas. This person will collaborate with regional and global resources to ensure optimal buying efficiencies and support corporate objectives for the achievement of targeted profitability for our new projects. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, executive presence, and a track record of delivering measurable supply chain outcomes in complex, high-growth environments.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that requires a self-starter who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment while managing complexity across suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include:

Procurement & Purchasing

  • Lead the purchasing of services, consumables, and specialty materials in support of Capital Projects or operating manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, tactical plans, and operational workflows for consumables and specialty materials across all applications and product development efforts.
  • Make and/or execute purchasing decisions for project/operational-related needs, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Manage Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders in compliance with internal procurement policies.
  • Develop and own global supply chain strategies aligned with business growth objectives, cost targets, and sustainability goals.
  • Lead end-to-end network design initiatives, including supplier selection, logistics optimization, and inventory positioning across regions.
  • Define and track KPIs for supply chain performance, including on-time delivery, cost per unit, inventory turns, and supplier quality metrics.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and thought partner to senior leadership on supply chain risk and resiliency planning.

Supplier Management

  • Coordinate activities with suppliers, contractors, and/or vendors including contract management and negotiations, RFP management, change order management, and schedule adherence.
  • Develop and maintain bidder's lists, conduct bid leveling, and ensure competitive sourcing practices.
  • Oversee and coordinate development activities between suppliers and internal development teams to ensure sourcing and procurement are aligned with corporate directives.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive performance, reliability, and long-term value.

Financial & Operational Analysis

  • Review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward project goals, including business, financial, and schedule objectives.
  • Support cost modeling, savings tracking, and spend analysis to enable data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Leverage strong analytical and Excel modeling skills to develop procurement reports and communicate insights to project leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal engineering, finance, operations, and project management teams to develop and execute integrated procurement strategies.
  • Serve as a procurement subject matter expert for sourcing, providing guidance on market conditions, supplier capabilities, and risk mitigation.
  • Travel as required, at company expense, to support project sites, supplier visits, and key negotiations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent relevant work experience in Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement, or Construction-related roles.
  • Experience sourcing services, consumables, and/or commodities in a project-based or capital-intensive environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in Excel modeling and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and administer contracts.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to actively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent workstreams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a capital projects, EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP or procurement management platforms (e.g., SAP, Coupa, Oracle).
  • Exposure to sustainability-driven supply chain practices or responsible sourcing frameworks.
  • APICS CSCP, CPIM, or similar procurement/supply chain certification.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
