Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is on the lookout for a motivated Staff Geotechnical Professional with 1–4 years of experience to join our dynamic team in Little Ferry, NJ. In this role, you'll work closely with senior geotechnical professionals and have opportunities to assist with advanced technical tasks and project management responsibilities. What You’ll Be Doing:Coordinate and oversee drilling operations for geotechnical investigations
Manage and evaluate laboratory testing to ensure quality results
Contribute to geotechnical reports and technical documentation
Perform essential engineering calculations (settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability, etc.) under the guidance of senior engineers
Assist in designing retaining walls and related structures
Support a range of geotechnical and construction observation/testing projects for a wide variety of clients in both the private and public sectors
A team player with a solid foundation in geotechnical principles
A dependable vehicle and clean driving record
A passion for hands-on, outdoor work
Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
We’ll equip you with Personal Protective Equipment including a high-visibility vest, hard hat, gloves, and safety glasses.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering
EIT certification is a plus—but not a deal-breaker if you’re working toward it
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record
Flexibility and drive to work the hours needed to meet project goals and deadlines
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written—you’ll be working closely with clients and team members
Experience with AutoCAD is a bonus
Familiarity with Slide2 and VESPA geotechnical design software is a definite plus
