What Makes You a Great Fit
We are looking for an exceptional Staff Fullstack Software Engineer with deep expertise in front-end architecture and solid experience in backend systems to join our Growth Engineering team. In this role, you'll be a technical leader driving the design and development of high-performance, scalable, and user-focused solutions that enhance user acquisition, engagement, and retention. You'll collaborate with product, design, and data teams to shape the technical direction of Pebl's growth initiatives and deliver seamless, data-driven customer experiences across the stack.
This position is based in our Palo Alto office with in-office attendance required Monday through Wednesday.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of front-end applications using React JS and TypeScript, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Own end-to-end feature delivery, integrating modern front-end applications with robust backend systems built on Postgres and AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, etc.).
- Partner with product managers and designers to craft impactful, user-centric experiences that drive measurable growth outcomes.
- Define and enforce engineering best practices for both front-end and backend development, including testing, deployment, and observability standards.
- Collaborate with data and infrastructure teams to ensure systems are secure, performant, and reliable at scale.
- Mentor and guide engineers across the organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence, learning, and innovation.
- Conduct design and code reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables and architectural consistency.
- Stay ahead of emerging web and cloud technologies to inform the team's technical roadmap.
Let's Connect If You:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong emphasis on front-end development and proven capability in backend or full-stack systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in React JS and TypeScript, with a strong grasp of front-end performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design principles.
- Solid experience in backend development using Postgres, AWS Lambda, and related serverless technologies.
- Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and system scalability.
- Proven success in leading complex technical projects from design through production.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Must have a lean and iterative mindset, focused on rapid delivery of customer value.
- Experience in growth-oriented engineering, experimentation, or A/B testing frameworks is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience building and maintaining design systems or shared UI component libraries.
- Deep knowledge of front-end performance optimization techniques and monitoring tools.
- Proficiency with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment workflows.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the engineering community.
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base pay depends upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
