Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Staff Digital Engineer at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. In this role you will be supporting our sustainment and modernization programs. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team.
This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the design and development of digital circuits and systems, including FPGAs, CPLDs, ASICs, and other digital components.
- Generate and update digital system requirements and select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
- Use modeling and simulation tools to expedite development and testing of firmware before hardware is available.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Implement rigorous testing and validation processes for digital designs to ensure functionality and performance meet specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers in digital design, including firmware and signal processing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 12 years directly relevant experience; Master’s with 10 Years; PhD with 8 Year.
- Experience leading the evaluation, selection, programming and testing of FPGAs for complex systems.
- Experience providing subject matter expertise in advanced digital design, to include FPGAs.
- Experience developing simulation frameworks and test benches.
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting firmware with software and hardware.
- Experience with Xilinx product line and development tools.
- Experience in aviation and/or Department of Defense programs.
- Must currently hold or be able to maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MATLAB or equivalent programming/analysis languages.
- Experience developing simulation frameworks and performance models.
- Experience in digital signal processing, digital beamforming, adaptive processing, or tracking algorithms.
